Program - Software that enables a business to pay
affiliates a percentage or specific amount per sale. This
is an effective way of obtaining incoming links.
Algo,
Algorithm
A mathematical process for achieving a desired result to rank
Web sites in a specific order based on a specific search request.
Algorithmic
listing Search engine listing that is on the "free"
or unpaid section of a search results page. These listings
are obtained using SEO techniques without the use of paid
advertising. Also called organic, natural or editorial listing.
Anchor
text The clickable portion of text displayed for
a link.
Anonymous FTP This is a method of using FTP
without a password.
Application
Any program on your hard disk - an application usually has
its own Directory and can be started by clicking on its icon
in the Start Menu. Most applications have their own Window.
Authority
Site with a high number of incoming links and a relatively
low number of outgoing links. Opposite of hub.
