Southern Utah continues
to grow at a rapid rate and with this comes new challenges.
Knowing how your business meets the needs of a growing
modern community is a key to your success.
You will want your business
to flourish whether it’s on a small scale or a
national level, even when faced with unexpected events.
For example: the loss of expected local traffic because
of road repairs or the shifting of algorithms in search
engines resulting in a loss of website traffic. Focusing
on a plan and implementing solutions for these or other
difficulties can be the very thing that secures your
business towards a successful future.
Whether you are reaching
clients locally or thinking of launching a business
that will compete for sales outside your geographic
area, you are in business to make money. To stay competitive
you will want to design a plan for a growing market.
Put together an inventory
of your strengths and weaknesses to help your business
gain a competitive edge. Business strengths are what
you excel in or what sets you apart from your competition.
These are your Unique Selling Propositions, USP’s.
To expand your Unique Selling
Propositions on a local or global scale, you can implement
some of the following effective marketing strategies
as applicable.
• Promote your
business by handing out business cards, sending letters,
or handing out brochures, etc.
• Join your local community Chamber of Commerce
and other related business functions.
• Use the media mediums such as TV, radio, newspapers,
magazines, etc.
• Utilize Internet marketing with business websites,
online auctions, online classifieds, etc.
• Put together press releases, related articles
and sponsor local events.
• Contact your clients through bulk mail, emails,
or thank you cards.
• Survey your customers on what they value as
benefits and what their complaints are. Then build
your business to accommodate your survey findings.
• Put together a campaign to promote to a niche
market. All your marketing efforts would then be directed
to a focused field.
• BE CREATIVE IN YOUR APPROACH.
A good rule of thumb is
to never let a day pass without implementing at least
one marketing strategy. As you go through your day,
stay alert to trends that might impact your target market.
The point is to attract
customers, whether they are here in southern Utah or
overseas, giving them great benefits and values. This
is what will set you apart; this is your Unique Selling
Propositions.
Some of the basic misconception
with the Internet is that "Once you have a website,
you'll start making money right away." In order
to make any money, the goal for a website is to make
money but first you must get qualifid visitors to your
site. This is achieved through well planned marketing.
You will save time and money if you do this before the
creation of your site. Our coaching staff will teach
and go in to depth with the most effective online marketing,
and offline marketing tactics that can be applied to
yourbusiness.
Having worked with hundreds
of clients, we know what works and how to funnel traffic
to your website.
There are 2 primary types
of website marketing:
- Local - Applies to businesses that
serve a local customer base and generates traffic
by advertising in a particular geographic area.
- Online - Is for businesses whose
products or services would be marketable on a national
or global scale.
Make sure you are using
your advertising dollar effectively.
